A Year of Expansion

Starting Sunday, April 28, we are going back to two Sunday, English services here at City View Church. We will have a traditional service from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. in the chapel and the 10:30 a.m. service, in the Worship Center, will be our modern service. There will not be children’s ministry during the traditional service time at 8 a.m. because it is only one hour. Both services will have the same teaching from God’s word, but the worship styles and other aspects will be different. Our connect classes will still meet at 9 a.m. as usual.

Why are we doing this?

After much prayer and discussion, we believe this new 8 a.m. service will position the future of His church for greater growth down the road by strategically reaching a targeted audience and giving people flexibility with their schedules.

why 8am?

We chose 8 a.m. because we also have our Oromo Church, in the Chapel, on Sundays.  The new English service will go from 8 a.m. - 9 a.m., so that it will not affect our Oromo congregation, who practice and prepare before their 10 a.m. service.

What you can do?

Pray about which service you feel the Lord wants you to go to and we look forward to seeing what the Lord is going to do. Maybe you know someone who would prefer a traditional or modern service. Now is the time to start telling your friends or neighbors about these two new service times and styles, 8 a.m. - Traditional Service, 10:30 a.m. - Modern Service. This new schedule will be starting the Sunday after Easter, April 28. We know as time goes on that people in our church and community will begin to gravitate to a certain service and style that they feel is best for them and their schedule.

Our traditional service has more of an unplugged style of worship with hymns and songs from yesteryear. Some aspects of the traditional service that might be different than the modern service is in the way we do communion, etc. Both services feature the same message from Pastor Troy or whoever is preaching. There is no children’s ministry during our 8 a.m. traditional service since the service is only 1 hour or less in length and takes place in the chapel.

Please note from time to time there is no traditional service on the Sunday prior to 4th of July and the third Sunday in December. There may be other dates where all three churches (English, Spanish and Oromo) come together and we postpone our traditional service for that week since we are all combined for a United service on that particular Sunday at 10:30 a.m. check out our website, bulletin or Facebook for when those dates might be.
