Compassion Sunday

On Sunday, August 25, City View will be reaching out to 6 communities here in San Diego to share the love of God through simple acts of serving and kindness.

9 AM - Meet in the Fellowship Center for donuts, coffee, and orientation. Head to project destinations at 9:30.
10:30 – For guests and those who arrive at the regular church time, the Chapel will be open for prayer.
11:30 - After the outreaches we will be returning to the Fellowship Center to enjoy lunch, share our stories, and celebrate together. All are welcome to attend.

Families with children are invited to take part in the outreach best suited for the kids' ages. Please note: No childcare is provided.

S.D.F.D. Firehouse #28

At City View, when the alarm goes off or someone calls 911, these are the guys who come. Did you also happen to know that they have to purchase and cook their own meals? We will be collecting fresh food items and dropping them by our Kearny/Serra Mesa fire station to show appreciation for their service. Food items to bring on Aug. 25:

Fresh, uncooked meat or main dish items for 8 people
Fresh-baked breakfast items (croissants, muffins, and bagels).
Fresh veggies and salad bar fixings
Desserts of all kinds!

Rady’s Children’s Hospital

We will be collecting and dropping off needed supplies for patients at the Helen Bernardy Center for medically fragile children.

Purchase new socks and/or pajamas (t-shirt & shorts type, no buttons) for boys or girls, all sizes.
Prepare and deliver items and visit Rady’s on Sunday, Aug. 25.

Red Cross Blood Drive

The Red Cross mobile unit will be at City View from 8-2 on Sunday, Aug. 25. Click here to reserve your preferred time at the Red Cross website. As the current supply is low, the donor giving incentive for August is a $20 Amazon gift card. Plan for a little over an hour for your visit.

Beach Clean-up

We’ll be picking up litter at Paradise Point in Mission Bay. The area includes public beaches, parking lots, and park space. Grabber poles, gloves, and trash bags will be provided. Meet at the Model Yacht Basin (click for map).

Backpacks & Teachers’ Supplies

We are providing 100 students and 12 teachers at our partner public school, Wegeforth Elementary, with essential supplies as they begin the school year.

$15 will supply a loaded backpack for 1 student. $30 will provide essential classroom supplies for 1 teacher. All contributions, large and small, are welcome. ($75 will buy 5 backpacks, for example.)

Elevate School Campus Project

Spruce up the Elevate school campus (located here at City View) by washing windows, cleaning desks, doing yardwork and providing other tasks to get it ready for students as they begin their school year. We’ll provide the soap and buckets. You provide the TLC!
